No. Oil thickens during shipping – common for any trumpet. Your Dleisis trumpet was 100% smooth at factory. Just needs re-oiling.
Why only the 3rd valve on this trumpet?

On a Bb trumpet, the 3rd valve has extra parts (ring & slide). Oil dries there first. Your trumpet is fine – simple fix.
Can I fix my trumpet myself or return it?

No. Trumpet pistons are made for removal & cleaning. Working on your trumpet does not void After-sales.
How to know if my trumpet valve is truly damaged?

True trumpet piston damage (bent/ broken spring) is rare. Remove piston: spring intact? surface shiny? If yes, your trumpet is fine – just lube it.

Tools: White gloves, piston oil (included), soft cloth.

Step 1 – Remove 3rd piston from trumpet: Unscrew top cap, pull piston straight up. Spring stays.

Step 2 – Inspect your trumpet parts: Spring intact? Piston shiny? Wipe old oil with cloth.

Step 3 – Re-oil trumpet piston: Apply 2-3 drops oil on piston middle. Wipe inside casing.

Step 4 – Reinsert into trumpet: Insert vertically, rotate until drops. Number mark faces mouthpiece receiver. Cap on.

Step 5 – Activate oil in trumpet: Press piston 10-15 times without mouthpiece. Gets smoother.

Step 6 – Test your trumpet: Put mouthpiece back, blow air. All 3 valves move smoothly.
